Admiralty Island Lime Spatula-New Guinea Art-Oceanic Art
Here is a fine late 19th century Admiralty Island lime spatula surmounted by a very beautiful male figure. The large head is especially well done with a rounded forehead, a raised nose, almond-shaped eyes and a mouth full of teeth. There are tassels of cloth and beads attached. The tip of the spatula shows definitive signs of traditional use. The piece is 21 ¼” (54 cm) in height and sells for $3400. Questions?
