Serving Out Supper, New Guinea Village Scene, New Guinea Art Field Photo
Serving out dinner. When on patrol you have to bring enough food for your own crew of men and the family who is putting you up for the night wherever you might find yourself. Thus for a week’s collecting trip I would bring upwards of 20 kilos of rice, 28 packages of instant noodles, 14 cans of maceral, coffee, sugar, navy biscuits, etc. You can see this woman added some nice greens to the mix.
